bah.

high school reunion is fast approaching and in my nostalgia for the good ol' boarding house days, i rediscovered an old friend.


i miss the string orchestra.
i miss the concerts, Mr McCullough and his gross sweat patches from waving the baton about too vigorously, the crazy guest conductors we'd have, the camps we'd attend just as an excuse to meet boys, the late practices...

four (or so) years ago, this girl came to practice with an electric violin she'd gotten as an 18th birthday present.
i was so jealous i immediately called daddy back home and told him i wanted one. 'ok,' he said, 'if u keep playing after year 12, i'll buy you one.'

i didnt.
but damn. getting a Ted Brewer would've been sweet.
